80’s/VHS aesthetic

80’s/VHS aesthetic

For my videos I used an 80’s/VHS aesthetic, for my future videos I will most likely continue to use this style to give my work a retro look as with my new theme of ‘the future’ the 80’s were filled with films with visions of the future and future events such as ‘Robocop’ which had the tagline of ‘The future of law enforcement’.

To enhance the feel that I want to achieve I could try and source a VHS camera to film my future videos with and use a 35mm camera to take any images with, for presenting my work I will try and find a small portable CRT TV to show my videos on, and a VHS player and tapes to put my videos on so when it comes to exhibiting them people will be able to insert the tape they want to watch into the VHS player.

Due to using stock footage found online I will have to try and match the quality of the footage with what I filmed on the VHS camera during editing, as well as apply any imperfections that come with the VHS format.
