Mixed Media

Mixed Media started around 1912 with cubist collages and constructions of artists like Georges Braque and Picasso. Mixed Media is a piece of art which uses more than one medium for example painting on a photograph. Many artists use materials like shells, clay, metal etc. Mixed Media piece often have a focus on aspects such as the various textures which come from the various materials and the colour they have.

While I doubt that I will use materials like paper and metal due to my lack of experience so I will mostly be making mine digitally layering things like drawings on photographs.
