Mixed Media techniques

Mixed Media techniques

For my project, I will be using a variety of different mixed media techniques, such as drawing on images, collage and scratching into images.

For my images, I feel that I will mostly be using drawing on images as this is the technique that I have the most experience in, for the images and video I will be creating I will try and adapt the techniques to fit in with my theme of surrealism, for example I could use scratch into an historical image to create various shapes in reference to people seeing UFOs and aliens in art such as with the Mona Lisa or even to change the meaning of the image by adding things from modern photos or magazines with collage.

Another technique that I could work with is drawn-on-film in which film strips are drawn, scratched, punched etc. into to create unique visuals such as animation, however this requires the use of an 8/16/35mm film to be used, however, I can still use it with still 35mm frames and then expose the image onto photographic paper for a range of outcomes as it can be combined with other darkroom techniques like solarisations.
