Richard Burbridge
Richard Burbridge is a fashion photographer based
in New York who uses a surreal twist with his images, such as having his models
wear bizarre masks in which can look like they were taken from a horror film as
well as using techniques like sewing into images. Burbridge will also use props
like food, foam and dolls.
The images he creates seem to disregard the
traditional definition and portray of Beauty.
Burbridge’s work inspires my project by showing me how sewing can be used to enhance an images quality by giving it a unique appearance, as well as how props can be applied and used in tandem with models/actors to give them a surreal and uneasy look.
